Abstract

Thoraco-lumbar intervertebral disc disease occurs frequently in dogs, especially in chondrodystrophic breeds. Cats, however, rarely have clinical signs of the disease, being not common the service of this affection, and consequently, reports and scientific works about thoraco-lumbar intervertebral disc disease in the species. The present article refers to a clinical case of a domestic feline with clinical signs of neuro-orthopedic disc disease. The importance of a good plan of clinical examination and the use of simple and contrasted radiographic techniques is emphasized, once that these tools are certainly more accessible to the majority of the veterinarians than computed tomography and magnetic resonance, for example.
